Building a Homebrew Infrared Receiver for the VIA EPIA M-series mainboard
(and fitting it in a Morex Cubid 2688)
Introduction
I built this infrared receiver as part of a larger project I am working on to make a Personal Video Recorder (PVR). That project is based on MythTV. There will be a separate document for that project forthcoming, but in a nut shell, I have a server machine in the garage (AMD 1400MHz) with two TV Tuner cards recording my favorite shows, and I watch them (possibly in real time) on a frontend machine based on a VIA EPIA M9000 mainboard.
