Nice job, BeyondTV seems to be closing in on SageTV re: the multituner support, etc.  Nothing here to make me switch just yet though.  If somebody could nail the PVR-350 OSD issues, that would be killer.

To be frank, the pvr350 overlay support is important to me in my current configuration, and I love SageTV (and GBPVR, and IVTV/MythTV) for supporting jamming a UI through it's TV out.   I was a tad partial to sagetv at the outset because of the pvr350 support in my m10k box, but I've kinda grown to like/appreciate all the features integrated out of the box with BTV3.5.  I'm pretty torn as they are both very good options, and I like having options, except when I can't decide between them.

Although I've had a good experience with hauppauge products, some people say that it's a driver issue, and not so much the software end of things.  But to be fair, the sofftware folks that do the ui overlay are using the card in a manner that's above and beyond what the TV out was meant for (and if it's stable with the UI overlay what does that say?).  I'm not sure, given where the pvr350 is in it's product cycle that you'll see other companies adding that ui overlay support to such a propietary/narrow market of a card.

You know what we need?  One of those product comparison grids with X's, check's, and yellow circles (for partial support or community based support) with btv, sagetv, meedio, and gbpvr.

Thanks for the comments lowbrow,

rampy

First of all thanks for the review.

But now you reminded me that I should be working on my review. Oh Well.

I personally really liked BTV, and the other offerings by the same company. On a side not I was very much looking forward to the newly releases Beyond Media, but due to , imho, some unethical shenanigans from that company with regard to a promise made, and then reneged on their beta testers (of which I was one) I am debating wheather or not to aquire it.

But this does not take away from the fact that BTV works quite well and with my dual tunner setup (conected to two motorola digital cable boxes, via serial cable) I know have more recorded shows than I can watch. I did have a few hickups at the bigging, but once i worked those out, it has been working very nicely since.

Great product but does not record in stereo. Like the ablity to record while GUI is off.
