The Seattle dual NTSC TV-Tuner card is a high performance tuner card, which was designed specifically to meet the next generation TV-tuner specifications designed for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

With Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PCs, consumers get the best version of Windows ever for the home, offering the full capabilities of Windows XP with exciting new experiences for music, digital photography, movies, and television.

“Microsoft is very pleased to have AVerMedia Technologies bring its high-quality receiver products to the market with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005,” said Kevin Unangst, director of Windows consumer marketing for Microsoft Corp. “AVerMedia’s new products play a key role in Microsoft’s delivery of a complete entertainment solution for consumers.”

AVerMedia Technologies is committed to playing a leading role in this PC to TV convergence technology space. The company’s vision on the future of Entertainment PCs aligns with the convergence of the PC and consumer electronics into the living room space. AVerMedia’s Seattle (A169), M180, M150, M113, M105, A180, E502, M033, M17D, and A16A cards are available to top tier OEM customers worldwide and are offered at a competitive price. AVerMedia continues to take a leadership position in the design and delivery of high quality solutions to its OEM customers.

The Seattle card offers consumers the ability to take advantage of the Media Center Edition’s capabilities by simultaneously watching one show while recording another. To meet performance expectations, Seattle uses two hardware encoders to alleviate CPU power consumption, resulting in a robust, high quality performance card. At the same time, the built-in 3D comb filter delivers to consumers a clean, crisp picture quality. With dual TV-Tuners designed onboard, OEMs only need one PCI slot to function two TV tuners, which reduces their overall hardware costs and provides them with more flexibility for system expansion.

The AVerMedia M180 PCI based TV-Tuner was designed specifically to meet the high picture quality requirements of next generation Entertainment PC systems that represent the type of quality users will find in high-end televisions. With more consumers wanting personal computing capabilities in their living rooms, Media Center Edition 2005-based PCs offer the ultimate solution with its ability to be both a computer and entertainment console. M180, with its 3D comb filter, is a perfect solution for today’s Media Center 2005-based systems, giving OEMs the ability to design and offer a more sleek, stylish and elegant console for consumers to have an entertainment PC in the living room.

Existing system integrators can use the NTSC (Analog) TV tuner in the PC, by simply adding another A180 HD-ATSC TV Tuner or A16A DVB-T_TV Tuner allowing the users to experience the newest features in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Besides providing the best picture quality possible with the High-Definition TV Tuner, the A180 HD-ATSC TV Tuner and A16A DVB-T TV Tuner enable anyone to “future-proof” the system, which makes it the ideal tuner card for the Entertainment PC.

The E502 CardBus TV Tuner Card is a Media Center Edition-compliant CardBus TV tuner card. Users can simply plug the card into their notebook systems running the Media Center Edition operating system to enjoy the selected TV program. The M105 mini-PCI TV Tuner Card is a mini-PCI TV tuner card which is a more integrated solution for the notebook platform. The M033 USB TV Tuner Box is more flexible to system integrators since it can be another solution for the Media Center Edition-based notebook, as well as a desktop.

The M150, M113, M17D and M155 are pure analog PCI TV tuner cards w/o 3D Y/C comb filter, however they could also be used as your TV tuner card choice for mainstream levels of our Media Center Edition-based platform. The AVerMedia MCE 1500 TV tuner card now is now ready for distributors and retail.

“With the growing interest in PC to Consumer Electronics convergence products, the concept of putting a full-featured home entertainment system with computing capabilities into the living room becomes a reality with new innovative designs such as the Entertainment PC, or EPC,” said Warren Chang, Director of OEM/ODM division for AVerMedia. “The idea of the EPC is to successfully merge computing and entertainment functions into one sleek and attractive system.”

“AVerMedia Technologies is delighted to support the Microsoft Media Center Edition initiative,” added Chang. “We believe that our contributions to provide multiple TV tuner solutions enable OEMs to have more flexibility and choices when it comes to designing PC to Consumer electronics products”.
